With over two decades of experience in residential real estate, Parks believes today’s challenging low inventory market requires unique strategies to complete successful transactions. “We are seeing buyers waive their due diligence in order to compete in this limited inventory/multiple offer environment.” He advises clients to explore other negotiating tactics rather than foregoing inspections and appraisals that leave buyers exposed to additional financial burdens. “Patience is an important ingredient in the recipe for a successful transaction,” Parks said. “Closing on an overpriced property with hidden mechanical or structural issues can lead to a regretful buyer or – in some cases – costly litigation.”
Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, Parks completed his education at Johns Hopkins University and The University of Baltimore. After several years on the East Coast, where he met his wife, Nancy, they moved to Kansas City from New York City where he continued his successful career in media at KMBC TV9. He and Nancy founded Parks/Parks & Company, a marketing communications firm, providing advertising, public relations and sales promotion services to clients across ten business sectors, including real estate.
In 2001, Parks transitioned into real estate, joining ReeceNichols, where he is licensed to serve clients in both Missouri and Kansas. His commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed, as he has been recognized as a Five Star Real Estate Agent fourteen times from 2005 to 2024.
