Bob is an award-winning economic development consultant and commercial REALTOR. Since 2012, he has been serving as the Vice President of Industrial & Investment Real Estate at Ogden & Company, Inc. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Specializing in industrial real estate and investments, Bob caters to buyers, sellers, and investors. His expertise extends across various sectors, including retail, office, schools, child care, and economic development corporations.
Having earned his Master’s Degree in Urban Affairs (History, Design, Planning, Politics, Transportation, & Community Development) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Bob boasts over four decades of experience in the real estate industry, holding esteemed designations such as an industrial specialist by the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS (SIOR), as an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) by the National Development Council of New York.
Before his tenure at Ogden, he held various prominent positions, including: Business & Economic Developer at IMPACT SEVEN, Inc.’s Milwaukee Office, where he marketed New Markets Tax Credits, SBA’s 504 Loans & SBA’s Micro Loans; Senior V-P of Corporate and Industrial Sales at NAI MLG Commercial; V-P of Special Projects at Colliers James T. Barry Co., Inc; and Industrial Real Estate Sales & Leasing Associate at Robert A. Polacheck Co. During 3+ years at Ogden, Bob also served as part-time Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Green Lake, Wisconsin.
Prior to becoming a licensed REALTOR, Bob devoted over a decade to executive director roles at 3 nationally recognized inner-city redevelopment projects: Milwaukee East Organizations’ Congress Inc., Racine’s North Side Redevelopment Project, Inc., and Northeast Milwaukee Industrial Development Corp. (NMIDC) n/k/as Riverworks Development Corporation.
Furthermore, Bob contributed his expertise as an Educational Presenter at various events, including SIOR’s International & Regional Conventions, as Program Chair of SIOR-Wisconsin Chapter meetings, at the Mid-American Economic Development Council Convention in 2010, and at UW-M’s School of Architecture & Urban Planning.
Throughout his illustrious career, Bob has garnered a plethora of prestigious awards and honors, including but not limited to: the Inaugural Sparkplug Award by Riverworks Business Improvement District (2018); Exceptional Leadership & 25 Years of Dedicated Service by Riverworks Development Corporation Board (2016); Recognition for Long Term Effective Public-Private Economic Development Partnership by the Wisconsin Economic Development Association in acknowledgment of his role in Initiating & Stewarding the Riverworks Development Corp (2015); Outstanding Leadership & Dedication as Program Chair for 12 years with the SIOR-Wisconsin Chapter (2014); NAI Global’s Elite Top Performer Award (2009); Outstanding Support & Leadership during his tenure as president of SIOR—Wisconsin Chapter (2007); Business Journal of Greater Milwaukee’s Industrial Transaction of 2006; Commercial Association of REALTORS-Wisconsin’s (CARW) Industrial Deal of 2006; Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the RIVERWORKS Board of Directors in recognition of his coordination & leadership during the inaugural 13 years of the Northeast Milwaukee Industrial Development Corp. (NMIDC), now known as Riverworks Development Corp (2005); and Industrial Transaction of 2004—Runner-Up awarded by CARW. Additionally, he was recently recognized by Marquis Who’s Who in America.
Above all, Bob attributes his remarkable success to the early adversity he faced, losing his father at the age of 10, and witnessing the perseverance demonstrated by his mother, Ethel, going back to college and eventually becoming an award-winning journalist providing for him and his older brother during their formative years. Bob has also benefitted from vast support from his wife, Margaret, a psychotherapist, who both parented 6 foster kids, 5 of their own children and 10 grandchildren. While parenting, Bob coached 16 seasons of youth basketball, 4 of youth baseball, and youth football.
Finding inspiration in the realm of industrial real estate in that it creates more jobs and requires less services than other real estate sectors, Bob strives to embody the change he wishes to see in the world. He has played a pivotal role both as a REALTOR & as a volunteer in positively impacting his local community and his State through job creation.
