Over the past 20+ years, Brian Sergi-Curfman has built an esteemed reputation in the real estate industry. Mr. Sergi-Curfman joined Howard Hanna Real Estate, the largest independent real estate company in the country, in 2003. As a part-time real estate agent, Mr. Sergi-Curfman’s success as a REALTOR® saw him sell more houses than many of his long-tenured peers. His achievements encouraged him to move full-time into the business and completely change careers. Within just six years of tremendous education and testing, he would become the company’s youngest real estate broker, able to open his own office, hire his own staff, and run his own business. Instead, Mr. Sergi-Curfman stayed with Howard Hanna for a total of 15 years and then decided to pursue other ventures. In 2024, Mr. Sergi-Curfman returned to Howard Hanna Real Estate, where he rekindled his comfortable feeling of home and renewed his success with past clients who associated him with the firm’s brand. Throughout the course of his time in real estate, Mr. Sergi-Curfman has conducted over $250 million in sales and over 500 clients in a market that has seen its average sales price of homes rise from $184,000 in 2004 to $261,000 in 2024. His embrace of lifelong learning has earned him over 20 educational designations and certifications, each designed to help his clients uniquely.
Mr. Sergi-Curfman believes that part of his success involves a collective journey that begins early and evolves through various influences. While individual effort is essential, mentorship, role models, job opportunities, and external factors significantly shape one’s path. Individual success isn’t solely due to personal efforts. These don’t diminish the importance of hard work, but it’s shortsighted to overlook the collective nature of success. Mr. Sergi-Curfman worked hard to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology, with a Minor in Negotiation Ethics, from the Mellon College of Science and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the world-renowned Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1997. Subsequently, he earned a Master’s of Science in Higher Education Administration from the equally prestigious Indiana University – Bloomington, in Bloomington, IN, in 1999. He believes that his education and career in college and university student affairs, where he taught leadership, ethical communication, and negotiation skills, are directly related to his primary vocation and have greatly enhanced his service to clients. He believes that his parents, advisors, and employers have instilled in him the values of integrity, perseverance, compassion, hard work, and a desire for lifelong learning. Mr. Sergi-Curfman follows three core tenets in his personal and professional life, ones he exhibits with every individual, old and new: integrity, compassion, and experience.
Beyond his career, Mr. Sergi-Curfman is a devoted husband and father to two exuberant children. His favorite hobby is collecting Cybis, Boehm, and Connoisseur of Malvern porcelain pieces. Looking ahead, Mr. Sergi-Curfman harbors aspirations of contributing to Howard Hanna Real Estate wherever he is needed, but especially in a manager’s role. He trusts that the many skills he has developed in leadership, communication, and customer service, in partnership with the amenities and values of his company, would be put to good use in a higher role, and he is eager to prove it.
