A native of Henderson, Ruxton graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors. He began his career in banking with NCNB Bank in Greensboro, where he honed his analytical and financial skills before returning to his hometown to pursue his passion for real estate. In 1988, Bobbitt earned his North Carolina Salesman’s License and subsequently obtained his Broker’s License after two years of sales experience and further training.
Throughout his career, Ruxton has held various influential roles, including serving as Broker in Charge at John M. Foster Real Estate. He also focused on developing residential subdivisions and managed John Foster Homes, a family business that specializes in manufactured and modular homes. His diverse background uniquely positions him to understand the intricacies of both traditional and development real estate, making him an invaluable asset to his clients.
In 2016, Bobbitt transitioned to working as a buyer’s agent through Bobbitt Real Estate Services, where he successfully assisted numerous clients in finding their dream homes. His recent move to Coldwell Banker Advantage signifies a new chapter in his career, allowing him to leverage the agency’s full-service capabilities and extensive network to better serve his clients.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ruxton is deeply committed to community service. He serves on the City of Henderson and Vance County Board of Adjustments and is an active member of the Henderson Vance Economic Development Commission. A long-standing member of First Baptist Church Henderson, he is dedicated to making a positive impact in his community.
Ruxton and his wife, Karen Foster Bobbitt, are proud parents of three daughters, Madison, Clara, and Margaret. Together, they have built a life centered around family and community engagement.
