Jessica serves as a Broker Associate and Global Real Estate Advisor at Premier Sotheby’s International Realty in Banner Elk, North Carolina. 

Her primary areas of expertise lie in residential real estate and land, where she caters to the unique needs of buyers, sellers, and investors. Jessica enjoys sharing her love for the area with others, wanting to make the Blue Ridge Mountains their home or find the perfect getaway or vacation investment property.

Originally from Waxhaw, North Carolina, Jessica first fell in love with the High Country during her time as an undergraduate student at Appalachian State University. After earning her Master of Business Administration Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the college, she stayed in Boone and ultimately decided she wanted to raise her family in this very special place. 

Before embarking on her real estate career, Jessica served as the sales manager for The Village Inns of Blowing Rock, a collection of charming boutique hotels. Her exceptional performance led to her promotion to the role of general manager, where she gained invaluable experience overseeing various aspects of the business, including marketing, customer service, accounting, and human resources. 

Thereafter, Jessica joined the team at Blue Ridge Mountain Club, opening and managing the new sales office in Blowing Rock and assisting with marketing efforts and event organization for the new development. She continued her hospitality career as the general manager for the Courtyard Marriott in Boone, where she served for the past nine years. Under her direction, the property earned several regional and national awards, including Marriott’s Diamond Circle.

Transitioning to a second career in real estate was a natural progression for Jessica, given her lifelong passion for the industry and home design. Her journey commenced in 2007 when she and her husband, Zak, ventured into property investment, successfully rehabilitating and flipping homes for over 15 years, and then selling them for a profit. 

Jessica’s background in hospitality and tourism serves her well in a market that is highly driven by second homeowners and vacation properties. She attributes her success to her unwavering commitment to serving others, treating everyone with equal respect, regardless of their level of interest or purchase.

Solidifying her commitment to professionalism and excellence in the real estate industry, Jessica is a proud member of the National Association of REALTORS® and the High Country Association of REALTORS®.

Furthermore, she actively serves on the Boone Tourism Development Authority and the High Country Workforce Development Board, and is an Adjunct Professor at the Walker College of Business of Appalachian State University.

As a long-time resident of Boone, Jessica has deep ties to the local community. She and her husband, Zak, are the proprietors of Benchmark Provisions Beer and Wine Market, located downtown. They are the proud parents of two children, Molly and Colt.

In her leisure time, Jessica enjoys traveling, trail riding one of her three horses around Moses Cone and Leatherwood Mountains Resort, boating and camping with her family on Watauga Lake, as well as taking walks with the family’s three dogs — Kash, Gemma, and Zeus — in the beautiful mountains.
