John Stroh: A Trusted Authority in Agricultural Real Estate in Colorado

John Stroh, a licensed associate real estate broker with Cruikshank Realty, Inc. in Lamar, Colorado, has dedicated over four decades to specializing in agricultural real estate, focusing on large tracts of agricultural land, small farms, and expansive ranches. With an impressive career dedicated to understanding the intricacies of the agricultural market, John offers unparalleled expertise in both buying and selling agricultural properties, making him a reliable representative for clients in the field.

John’s journey in real estate began after he graduated from Colorado State University in 1976. He immediately became a licensed real estate broker in Colorado, combining his academic knowledge with hands-on experience from working on his father’s ranch. In 1986, he returned full-time to the real estate business, becoming a branch office for Peterson Agri-Management Company. During this period, John managed nearly 41 properties across Colorado, specializing in livestock-oriented properties that required comprehensive improvements, including fencing and corral construction.

In addition to his brokerage services, John gained his certified general appraisal license in 1991, performing over 1,000 real estate appraisals in his 16 years of holding the license. Although he decided not to renew his appraisal license after 2010, his vast experience in property management and consulting continued to grow. From 1990 to 2016, John and his wife owned Southern Colorado Land & Livestock Company, Inc., where they offered full-time brokerage, property management, appraisals, and consulting services.

In 2016, John partnered with Gene Cruikshank, a long-time friend and associate, to enhance the services offered to clients. This partnership has allowed John to leverage his strong background in ranch management and property sales, further solidifying his reputation as a trusted authority in the agricultural sector. His deep roots as a fourth-generation farmer and rancher in Colorado enable him to understand the unique needs of farmers and ranchers, providing exceptional guidance and support throughout the buying or selling process.

John’s love for the agricultural community is evident as he works in the picturesque foothills of the Spanish Peaks, where the distinctive landscapes and central location provide a plethora of opportunities for agricultural real estate. He has developed strong relationships with local bankers, which further enhances his ability to assist clients in navigating the agricultural real estate market.

Outside of his professional endeavors, John is an avid supporter of the Colorado Rockies and actively engages in community service through his memberships with the United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, and the American Highland Cattle Association, alongside his wife. His commitment to both his work and community underscores his dedication to fostering a thriving agricultural environment in Colorado.
