Since 2008, his dedication to design excellence has set the pace for the firm’s challenging, innovative, and collaborative atmosphere. Michael oversees many of the firm’s projects through every phase. From initial analysis, through planning, design development, and construction phases, he stays deeply involved; a true testament to the power of the hands-on, personable approach that defines Luxe Design Associates operational philosophy.
With a broad educational background, Michael graduated with his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Bowling Green State University. He then went on to earn his Master of Architecture degree in Housing and Human Environments from Miami University in 2010, and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Housing and Urban Planning from the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University in 2020. His doctoral studies focused on an aging population that is increasingly tech-savvy, innovative, independent, and diverse.
A year later, in 2021, Michael obtained a Retirement Community Design Certificate from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
With over two decades of design and management experience, his portfolio includes some of today’s most impressive large-scale multi-family projects across the United States.
An advocate to eliminate ageism through design, Michael’s professional experience includes the design of senior living environments ranging from retirement communities to multi-generational urban high-rises. Contemporary urban issues and housing an aging population are the topics of this book called, Relocation in Later Years, Aging in Place in Americans Urban Neighborhoods.
